  Proof Young Talent search Award  
  Miss Arch Rani of Class VIII is the recipient of "Proof Young Talent search Award" for her outstanding academic excellence for the year 2014. The award comprises of a scholarship Rs 5000 annually till the completion of Class XII.(In the picture Archi Rani is receiving the award from Dr. (Prof.) Ganapati Panda, Ex-Director, IIT, Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Director, PXE Sri R Appavuraj.)  
   
  66th Republic Day Celebration  
 

Mr MVKV Prasad (Scientist - H "Outstanding", Director, ITR & President, Range Educational Society hoisted the National Flag as Chief Guest at Range School Parade ground on occasion of 66th Republic Day Celebration. He inspired the audience to have share in the nation-building and be a proud citizen. His words : "questioning is the root of development" are now a quotable quote on Range School campus.

The celebration included cultural activities followed by inter-house Parade competition.

Mr Niladri Roy, Scientist-F, ITR and Secretary was the guest of honour and he encouraged students' wholehearted participation.

The Principal, Mr S N Thakur offered the vote of thanks and shared his indebtedness for the presence of the notable guests. Mr PK Sa, PGT(Maths) was the overall in-charge of conducting the Republic Day Celebration.

 
   
  Saraswati Puja  
  Range School celebrates Saraswati Puja on 24 January.The pandal decorations were guided by Mr P P Pati, Art Teacher whereas the overall in charge was Mr P K Hota, TGT(Hindi).  
   
  Art of Living Course Organized  
 

The school initiated in organizing the famous ART of Living course on campus from 15 December to 20 December in the DRDO Community Centre.
The Art Excel Course is meant for the age group of 8 -12 yrs where the instructors intend to enhance the creative skills and energize healthier emotions among students. The six day sessions have fun filled activities along with emphasis on leadership training and communication skills.
For the students of age group 13 -18, a specially designed Youth Empowerment Seminar aims at improving self-esteem and confidence and reducing stress. This comprehensive seminar offers problem solving strategies, creative projects and practical tools for releasing stress.
The students of our neighbouring Odisha Govt school are also invited to join the programme.

Schools Atheletic Championship - 2014

Congratulations to Master Soumydeep Mohanty, Class XI for winning third position in 200m race in the State Schools Atheletic Championship - 2014 held at Sambalpur (3/12/2014 to 6/12/2014).

The school also appreciates the participation of Master Buddheswar Marandi of Class X in the shot put event.

Both these players were selected at the zonal level to represent Balasore district. The school management has praised the efforts of Ms Sandhya Mahapatra, PET for honing the skills of our young athletes.

Children’s Day Celebration – 2014

As usual, the school celebrated the Children’s Day commemorating Nehru’s 126th birthday. The observation was exceptional this particular year as State Bank Group came forward with their sponsorship for certain competitions like debate, fancy dress, solo song, painting etc.
Teachers along with the Principal conducted the morning assembly instead of the students. The teachers displayed their active participation in regular assembly events like news, thought, speech, song etc.
Under the supervision of Mrs S Mohapatra, PET inter-house Kabbadi match was held. Senior girls participated in pairs for Rangoli competition judged by Mrs J Ghosh, Mrs B Maharana and Mrs D R Sahoo whereas junior group was engaged in painting competition under Mr P P Pati, Art Teacher, Mrs B K Routray and Mrs S R Mohapatra . Solo song competition was also organised for both senior and junior group and the participants were evaluated by Mr P K Sa, Mr P K Tripathy and Mr P K Hota. The most entertaining source was the ‘Fancy Dress’ event by students of Class I, II, III & IV. This was conducted by Mrs S Das & Mrs S Sahoo and the participants were evaluated by Ms P Nayak, Mrs N Indira and Mr M N Verma.
On this occasion, a debate competition was held previous day for senior students (Class IX – XII) on the topic “CHILD EDUCATION IN INDIA – A REALITY OR HOAX”.  Mr N K Sa, Mrs B Maharana and Mr P K Hota were the judges to decide the performance of all the 26 participants.
Mr Sumanta Kumar Panda, Regional Manager, SBI Group, Balasore graced the occasion as Chief Guest with Mr Timir Ranjan Mohanty, Branch Manager of Chandipur Branch as the Guest of Honour. They were given a warm reception by the Vice president of the School, Mr T K Biswal, Scientist F, PXE. Mr Panda shared his views on Nehru’s vision and architectonic quality in nation building. He also encouraged the students to be part of ‘Pehla Kadam’ mission of SBI and be an account holder.

The prizes were given away to the successful participants by the Chief Guest and the Vice president. Mr S. N. Thakur, Principal offered the vote of thanks.
